ABOUT AUTHOR
Uzair Shamsi, Ph.D., P.E., is a senior technical manager with USFilter Engineering and Construction in Pittsburgh, and an adjunct assistant professor at the University of Pittsburgh, where he teachers GIS and hydrology. Dr. Shamsi has 18 years of water and wastewater engineering experience through teaching, research, and consulting. A recipient of ASCE's Excellence in Civil Engineering Education (ExCEEd) training, he has given more than 30 lectures and written more than 60 published papers in the areas of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and GIS applications.
